Happy Birthday to Rajat Kapoor, Indian actor, writer, and director, born on February 11, 1961, in Delhi India. Rajat studied at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune and made his debut in 1989 in ‘Khayal Gatha’. In the 1990s, Rajat started writing and directing short films, making his debut as director of ‘Private Detective: Two Plus Two Plus One’ in 1997. In 2001, he appeared in ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, as Preity Zinta’s uncle, and in ‘Monsoon Wedding’, as the wealthy but abusive uncle of the bride. He received a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi for ‘Raghu Romeo’ (2003), which he wrote and directed. Other films he has been in are: ‘Kisna: The Warrior Poet’ (2005), ‘Mixed Doubles’ (2006), ‘Corporate’ (2006), ‘Krazzy 4’ (2008), ‘That Girl in Yellow Boots’ (2010), and ‘Ankhon Dekhi’ (2014) which he directed, wrote and acted in. ‘Ankhon Dekhi’ won a Filmfare Award for Best Story and a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Film. Rajat also played the cheating father in the hit ‘Kapoor ad Sons’ (2016), an evil professor in Anushka Sharma’s horror film ‘Pari’ (2018), and an investigator tracking down a terrorist in ‘Mulk (2018). Rajat has most recently been seen in ‘Code M’, (2019), a web series for ALT Balaji and ZEE5, and “Scam 1998′, and as the producer/director/writer/actor of ‘Kadakh’ (2020), a dark comedy.
