Niven Pauly

Nivin Pauly ~ an Indian actor, and producer, born on October 11, 1984, in Aluva, Kerala, India. Nivin works mostly in the Malayalam film industry. He worked as a software engineer after college. He started his acting career in the movie ‘Malarvaadi Arts Club’, in 2010. Then he did several small roles before getting a break as the lead in the romance ‘Thattathin Marayathu’, the biggest Malayalam hit of 2012. Nivin did several boy-next-door love stories such as ‘Neram’ (2013), winning a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut-South, ‘Ohm Shanthi Oshaana’ (2014), ‘1983’ and ‘Bangalore Days’ (2014), which won him the Kerala State Film Award as Best Actor for both films, and the beloved movie ‘Premam’ (2015), winning the South Indian International Movie Awards for Best Actor – Malayalam.  ‘Bangalore Days’ and ‘Premam’ are in the top ten highest-grossing Malayalam movies ever. By 2016, Nivin began to diversify his roles with ‘Action Hero Biju’, as a police officer and he produced the film, ‘Jacobinte Swargarajyam’, a family drama. In 2017, he played a dual role in ‘Sakhavu’, as a student political leader and a senior social activist, and in ‘Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela’ as a son whose mother has cancer. Nivin then played a small-time thug in his first Tamil film ‘Richie’. In 2018, Nivin played ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’ a read life highwayman who robbed the rich and give to the poor in the early 19th century. Mohanlal played a featured part and the movie was the most expensive Malayalam film until that date and became a blockbuster. In 2019, Nivin made Geetu Mohandas’ ‘Moothon’. The movie was a critical success and Nivin’s raw performance as a drug-addicted gangster with a past. Nivin won the New York Indian Film Festival Best Actor award for the film.
