Madhuri Dixit is a Bollywood actress and diva, born on May 15, 1967, in Mumbai. Madhuri made her film debut in ‘Abodh’ (1984), but she attained stardom in the blockbuster ‘Tezaab’ starring opposite Anil Kapoor in 1988, especially with her item number ‘Ek Do Teen’. During the ’90s, Madhuri was a top actress, along with the likes of Sridevi and Juhi Chawla. She has had successful films with Salman, Aamir, and Shah Rukh Khan. Some of Madhuri’s most successful films are: ‘Ram Lakhan’ (1989), ‘Dil’ (1990), ‘Beta’ (1992), ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!’ (1994), ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ (1997), and ‘Devdas’ (2002). She is known as the “Dhak Dhak” girl because of her sexy item number ‘Dhak Dhak Karne Laga’. Madhuri married Dr. Shriram Nene, in 1999, and lived in the US for almost a decade. She returned to India in 2007 to make the movie ‘Aaja Nachle” and returned permanently in 2011. She has been a judge on the dance show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’. She also starred in ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ and ‘Gulaab Gang’, both in 2014. In 2018, Madhuri returned to the screen with ‘The Bucket List’, her first Marathi language film. She played a heart-transplant patient, who fulfills the bucket list of her donor. Madhuri was last seen in the blockbuster ‘Total Dhamaal’ (2019), a comedy with an ensemble cast, and Karan Johar’s unsuccessful ‘Kalank’, as the madam of a brothel. She also has a YouTube channel for beauty tips and another with her husband, Dr. Shriram Nene, giving health advice.
