
Sushant Singh Rajput was a television and film actor, born on January 21, 1986, in Patna, Bihar. While in college, Sushant took dance classes with Shiamak Davar and acting classes with Barry John. In 2008, Sushant was cast in the Indian soap opera ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil’ as the hero’s younger brother. In 2009, he starred in another soap opera ‘Pavitra Rishta’. From there he appeared in two dance-based reality shows. Sushant next auditioned for the film ‘Kai Po Che!’, which released on February 22, 2013. Sushant received rave reviews for his character and ‘Kai Po Che!’ was a surprise success. After ‘Kai Po Che’, Sushant became the male lead in Yash Raj Film’s ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ (2013) with Parineeti Chopra, ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshi’ (2015), and Neeraj Pandey’s sports bio “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ (2016) and his first nomination for Filmfare Best Actor. In 2017, Sushant was seen in the unsuccessful reincarnation drama ‘Raabta’ co-starring with Kriti Sanon. In 2018, he starred with Sara Ali Khan in her debut film ‘Kedarnath’, a love story set during the 2013 Uttarakhand floods. In 2019, he was praised for two films, ‘Sonchiriya’ with Bhumi Pednekar and ‘Chhichhore’ with Shraddha Kapoor. He also did a Netflix film ‘Drive’, an action/comedy co-starring Jacqueline Fernandez. His last film, which was released after his death, was a Bollywood remake of Hollywood’s ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ called ‘Dil Bechara’. It not released in theaters due to COVID 19 lockdown. It released on the streaming platform Hotstar, becoming their most-watched video with 95 million viewers within 24 hours. The popular young actor was found dead at his Bandra home on June 14, 2020. At first, suicide was suspected but upon further inquiry, murder has not been ruled out.
