Imran Khan is a young American-born Bollywood actor, born on January 13, 1983, in Wisconsin, USA. Imran was born into a filmy family and among his relatives are Aamir Khan (uncle) and Nasir Hussain (director/screenwriter), his grandfather. When his parents divorced, Imran moved back to Mumbai with his mother. He first appeared as a child in the film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ (1988), produced and written by Nasir Hussain and ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’ (1992). Imran studied filmmaking at the New York Film Academy and acting at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute. In 2008, Imran played the lead in ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ which was a success. He won the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award, sharing it with Farhan Akhtar. Altogether, Imran has done fifteen movies, the most successful being ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ (2010), ‘Delhi Belly’ (2011), ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ (2011), and ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’ (2012). In 2015, Imran starred in an unsuccessful romantic comedy, ‘Katti Batti’, with Kangana Ranaut. In 2018, Imran made his debut as a director in the short film ‘Mission Mars: Keep Walking India’. He is not acting currently. Imran and his wife, Avantika, are the parents of a girl, Imara, and are currently separated.
