Happy Birthday to Paresh Rawal, Indian film and tv actor, producer, and politician, born on May 30, 1947, in Mumbai. Paresh made his debut in 1984 in ‘Holi’, and became more well-known in the 1986 film ‘Naam’. In 1994, he won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in ‘Woh Chokri’ and ‘Sir’. In 2000, he played a stupid, loud but kind-hearted landlord in the cult classic ‘Hera Phari’. He received the Filmfare Best Comedian Award for his portrayal. Since the 1980s, Paresh has appeared in over 200 films. Some of his more memorable roles were in movies, such as: ‘Sardar’ (1994), ‘Tamanna’ (1996), ‘Aankhen (2002), ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’ (2006), ‘Dan Dana Dan’ (2009), and ‘OMG – Oh My God’ (2012). In 2014, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India, for his contributions to the entertainment industry. One of his future projects is a biopic of Narendra Modi in which he will act and produce. Paresh won a seat in the Indian Parliament representing the Bharatiya Janata Party in East Ahmedabad in 2014. He has been seen in ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ and ‘Guest In London’ (2017), ‘Sanju’ (2018) the biopic, Uri: The Surgical Strike’ (2019), and ’Coolie No. 1’, which recently released on Netflix.
