Pawan Kalyan is an Indian actor, screenwriter, director, and producer working mostly in the Telugu industry, born on September 2, 1971, in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh. Iconic Telugu actor Chiranjeevi is Pawan’s older brother, and actors Ram Charan, Varun and Sai Dharam Tej, and Allu Arjun are his nephews. Pawan is nicknamed “Power Star” by his fans. In 1996, Pawan made his acting debut as the lead in ‘Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi’ (a remake of the Hindi ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’). He gained attention for his fourth film ‘Tholi Prema’ (1998), which won a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and six Nandi Awards. Other well-known films are: ‘Gokulamio Seeta’ (1997), ‘Suswagatham’ (1998), ‘Thammudu’ (1999), ‘Badri’ (2000), ‘Kushi’ (2001), ‘Jalsa’ (2008), blockbuster ‘Gabbar Singh’ (2012), a remake of Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’, ‘Gopala Gopala’ (2015), and ‘Attarintiki Daredi (2013), the highest grossing Telugu film at the time. In 2021, Pawan was seen in ‘Vakeel Saab’, a remake of the Hindi legal drama ‘Pink’. In 2022, he did a remake of the Malayalam film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ called ‘Bheemla Nayak’. He was seen as the God of Time “Titan” in ‘Bro’, his latest movie. Pawan, who has a black belt in karate, is also a stunt coordinator and uses martial arts in several of his films. Pawan became involved in politics in his brother Chiranjeevi’s party in 2008. In 2014, he founded his own party called Jana Sena Party. Pawan also founded a charitable trust called the Common Man Protection Force. Pawan is married to his third wife and has a son and a daughter by for second wife.
