Tovino Thomas

Tovino Thomas is an Indian actor appearing mostly in Malayalam films, born on January 21, 1989, in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur district, Kerala, India. Nivin Pauly is his second cousin. He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering and worked as a software engineer before becoming an actor. Tovino’s made his debut with a supporting role in the Malayalam film ‘Prabhuvinte Makkal’ in 2012. By 2014, Tovino was appearing as the lead in “Koothara’ and ‘You Too Brutus’ (2015). Other movies of Tovino’s are ‘7th Day (2014), ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’ (2015) winning his first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor, ‘Guppy’ (2016), ‘Oru Mexican Aparatha’ (2017) a dual role, ‘Ezra’ (2017), ‘Mayanadi’ (2017) winning Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. In 2018, Tovino made his Tamil debut as Dhanush’s enemy in ‘Maari 2’ (2018). In 2019, he co-starred in ‘Uyare’ with Parvathy Thiruvothu, the story of an acid-attack victim. ‘Uyare’ was the first Malayalam film to release in South Korea. Also notable is ‘Virus’, an ensemble cast of Malayalam actors tell the true story of the 2018 Nipah virus outbreak in Kerala. Tovino was last seen in the mystery thriller ‘Forensic’ (2020). Tovino has been married to Lidiya since 2014. They have a son and a daughter.
