Prabhas ~ (born Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju Uppalapati), one of my favorite Indian film actors, was born on October 23, 1979, in Madras, Tamil Nadu. Prabhas’ father was a well-known Telugu film producer, and his uncle, Krishnam Raju, is a popular Telugu actor known as “Rebel Star” and politician. Prabhas has said, that although he was shy, he was inspired to act after watching his uncle. In all his films, Prabhas has a natural ability to show innocence and sweetness in romance, be fierce and intense in action, and cute and goofy in comedy. He was the star of his debut movie, ‘Eshwar’ (2002), and his second movie ‘Raghavendra’. But it was his third movie, ‘Varsham’ (2004), that brought the public’s attention. Prabhas was paired with Trisha in this romantic action film. In 2005, Prabhas was directed by S.S. Rajamouli in a story of ill-treated Sri Lankan refugees forced into slave labor in a port area. ‘Chatrapathi’ was a blockbuster. He did several melodramas after that: ‘Pournami’ (2006), ‘Yogi’ and ‘Munna’ (2007), and ‘Bujjigadu’ (2008). Prabhas starred in a double role in the Telugu remake of ‘Don’, called ‘Billa’ (2009). He took on a never seen before role for him, that of the super stylish gangster. That same year, Prabhas paired with his only Bollywood actress to that point, Kangana Ranaut in ‘Ek Niranjan’. Sonu Sood was the bad guy. From that point on, all his movies were hits, with the exception of ‘Rebel’ (2012). This includes: ‘Darling’ (2010) and ‘Mr. Perfect’ (2011), both with Kajal Agarwall, and ‘Mirchi’ (2013), which won a Nandi Award for Best Actor and co-starred Anushka Shetty. ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ (2015), won the National Award for Best Film, and ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ (2017) have set all-time records throughout India and worldwide, making Prahbas a immensely popular star. He is currently filming ‘Saaho’, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor, which will release on August 15, 2019. His 20th film, a period love story co-starring Pooja Hedge, is being shot in Italy.
