Ajith Kumar is an Indian actor working mostly in the Tamil film industry, born on May 1, 1971, in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Ajith began his career in ‘En Veedu En Kanavar’ in 1990.  In 1993, he made his debut in the lead of ‘Amaravathi’. At this point, Ajith decided to try a career in auto racing. Unfortunately, he injured his back and was bedridden for 18 months. By 1996, he was a romantic hero in movies such as ‘Kadhal Kottai’ (1996), ’Aval Varuvala’ and ‘Kaadhal Mannan’ (1998). With ‘Amarkalam’ (1999), his 25th film, Ajith established himself as an action hero. He married his co-star Shalini after the film was over. He has won the Filmfare Award South – Tamil for Best Actor for ‘Vaali’ (2000), ‘Villain’ (2003), and ‘Varalaru’ (2007). Other of Ajith’s well-known films are AR Murugadoss’s ‘Dheena’ (2001), ‘Citizen’ (2001), ‘Poovellam Un Vasam’ (2001), ‘Attahasam’ (2004), ‘Billa’ (2007), ‘Mankatha’ (2011), ‘Veeram’ (2014), ‘Yennai Arindhaal’ (2015), ‘Vivegam’ (2017) and ‘Viswasam’ (2019). He was last seen in the Tamil remake of ‘Pink’ called ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’ in 2019. He is affectionately known as ‘Thala’ Ajith.
