Shahid Kapoor, an Indian actor, born on February 25, 1981, in Delhi. Shahid is the son of acclaimed actor Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem, actress and classical dancer. Shahid’s parents divorced when he was three and his father married actress Supriya Pathak. Shahid started his career dancing in music videos and appearing in commercials. In 1999, he appeared as a background dancer to Aishwarya Rai in the film ‘Taal’. In 2003, he made his debut as the lead in ‘Ishq Vishk’ and earned a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award. Shahid has starred in thirty-five-plus films, these being the most successful: ‘Vivah” (2006), ‘Jab We Met’ (2007), ‘Kaminey’ (2009), his first 100 cr. success ‘R. Rajkumar’ (2013), ‘Haider’ (2014), a Vishal Bhardwaj remake of Hamlet (he won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor), ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016) playing a drug-addicted rock star, and Sanjay Leela Bransali’s ‘Padmaavat’ (2018). In 2019, Shahid starred in ‘Kabir Singh’, a controversial Telugu remake, as a self-destructive and obsessed surgeon. It became his biggest commercial success and the second highest-grossing Hindi movie of 2019. Shahid’s next was another Telugu remake, ‘Jersey’ (2022) playing a failed cricketer. He can be seen in Amazon Prime’s crime drama web series ‘Farzi’, as a counterfeiter, as a narcotics control office in ‘Bloody Daddy’ in 2023, and as a robotics engineer in ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ in 2024. In 2025, Shahid starred in ‘Deva’, an action thriller, as an Assistant Commissioner of Police with a secret.  In 2015, Shahid married Mira Rajput and they have a son and a daughter.
