Abhay Deol, an Indian actor, and producer, born on March 15, 1976, in Mumbai. He is a member of a filmy family. His uncle is an iconic actor Dharmendra, and his cousins are Bobby, Sunny, and Esha Deol. Abhay began acting as a child in the theater. He made his debut in Imtiaz Ali’s first romantic comedy ‘Socha Na Tha’ in 2005. Some of his best-known movies are: ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.’ (2007), ‘Manorama Six Feet Under’ (2007), ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ (2008), ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ (2011), ‘Shanghai’, ‘Chakravyuh’ (2012), and ‘Raanjhanaa’ (2013). Abhay’s breakthrough film was Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dev D’ (2009). It was a critically acclaimed modern take on ‘Devdas’. He was recently seen as a cheating boyfriend in ‘Zero’ (2018), has starred as a conman in the Netflix series ‘Chopsticks’, and made his Tamil debut in the superhero film ‘Hero’ (2019). Abhay is starring in several web series: ‘JL50’ a sci-fi mystery involving the reappearance of an airplane missing for 35 years, ‘1962: The War in the Hills’ (2021), a fictional account of the 1962 Indo-China war, ‘Spin’ as the widowed father of a Indian-American teenage DJ , and ‘Trial By Fire’ (2023), a true story about a 1997 cinema fire tragedy. Abhay also has his own production company called Forbidden Films.
