While his first film was not successful, Rohit’s next movies were very successful action comedies: ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’ (2006), ‘Golmaal Returns’ (2008), and ‘Golmaal 3’ (2010). All starred Ajay Devgan. Ajay also starred in Rohit’s hits: ‘Singham’ (2011), ‘Singham Returns’ (2014), ‘Bol Bachchan’ (2012), and ‘Golmaal Again’, the highest-grossing film of 2017. In 2018, Rohit released the third film in Shetty’s Police Universe (the two Singham films are one and two). ‘Simmba’, starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan. It had mixed reviews but became the third highest-grossing film of 2018. Rohit released ‘Sooryavanshi’, on Diwali of 2021. Akshay Kumar starred as the head of an anti-terrorism squad. The release, delayed because of the coronavirus, was the first major release from Hindi Cinema after the lockdown and became the highest-grossing Hindi film of that year. In 2022, Rohit made his OTT debut with ‘Indian Police Force’ for Amazon Prime Video. He also took a break from action films with a remake comedy drama ‘Cirkus’, starring Ranveer Singh.
