Happy Birthday to Ali Zafar, multi-talented Pakistani singer-songwriter, composer and actor, born in Lahore, Pakistan, on May 18, 1980.  His parents were both professors at the University of Punjab. In 2003, Ali’s debut album “Huqa Pani” was released with great success making him one of the most popular artist in Pakistan. Ali had acted in a Pakistani television serials before acting in ‘Tere  Bin Laden’, a Bollywood film directed by Abhishek Sharma in 2010. ‘Tere Bin Laden’ was a success in India, but was not released in Pakistan because of the subject matter. Ali next made a special appearance in ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ (2011), starring Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan. In 2012, Ali made the Hindi film ‘London, Paris, New York’.  Besides acting in the film, he served as the composer and music director.  He starred in ‘Chashme Baddoor’ (2013), ‘Total Siyappa’ (2014) and ‘Kill Dil’ (2015).  In 2016, Ali appeared with SRK and Alia Bhatt in Gauri Shinde’s’Dear Zindagi’.  He also continues to tour and do live performances. Ali made his Pakistani film debut in ‘Teefa in Trouble’, which he also co-wrote and produced.  He was recently presented with Pakistan’s highest literary award, Pride of Performance, for his achievements in the field of arts and music. Ali is married and has a son and a daughter.
