Alia Bhatt is a popular Indian actress, and member of a filmy family, born on March 15, 1993, in Mumbai. Alia’s father is director/producer/writer Mahesh Bhatt, and actress Soni Razdan is her mother. As a child, she appeared in ‘Sangharsh’, playing star Preity Zinta as a young girl.  Alia started her career as an adult in 2012 with Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’, along with Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. In 2014, she starred in Imtaiz Ali’s ‘Highway’, an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s ‘2 States’, and the comedy, ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. In 2015, she starred in the unsuccessful ‘Shaandaar’ with Shahid Kapoor. However, 2016 started a string of consecutive hits: ‘Kapoor and Sons’, a family drama, ‘Udta Punjab’, as a drug-addicted migrant worker, she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress, ‘Dear Zindagi’ with co-star SRK, and the hit, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, with Varun Dhawan. In 2018, Alia had critical success with ‘Raazi’, a period spy thriller with Vicky Kaushal. Her winning streak continued with ‘Gully Boy’ (2019), as the girlfriend of Ranveer Singh, a ghetto rapper, and ended with Karan Johar’s ‘Kalank’ (2019) and ‘Sadak 2’ (2020) which both failed at the box office.  Alia had three pictures released in 2022. They are ‘Brahmastra’, a fantasy adventure trilogy with Ranbir Kapoor, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ a crime-drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and ‘RRR’ directed by S.S. Rajamouli. Alia was last seen in ‘Darlings’ (2022), a dark comedy for Netflix. Early in 2022, Alia married Ranbir Kapoor. In November they became the parents of a daughter.
