Ankit Tiwari, an Indian playback singer and music director, born on March 6, 1990, in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His parents own a musical troupe that performs at religious services, and his mother is a devotional singer. Ankit was trained in classical music and piano. Coming to Mumbai in 2007, he met writer/director Pradeep Sarkar who gave him a chance to work on jingles and background scores. Ankit made his debut as music director for the film ‘Do Dooni Chaar’ (2011). He has also served as music director for ‘Aashiqui 2’ (2013), ‘Ek Villain’ (2014), ‘PK’ (2014), ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, ‘Rustom’, ‘Baaghi’ (2016), ‘Baadshado’ (2017), and ‘Aiyaary’ (2018). As a playback singer, Ankit has won playback awards for “Galliyan” (Ek Villain) and “Sunn Raha Hai” (Aashiqui 2). Unfortunately for Ankit, he was accused of rape in May of 2014 and arrested. He was later released on bail, but the case was not decided until 2017. He was found innocent of the charges, but the case took a toll on his professional career. In February 2022, he appeared as a contestant in StarPlus’s Smart Jodi along with his wife, Pallavi Tiwari. Ankit married Pallavi in 2018 and now has one child. In April of 2024, Ankit had a brief North American Tour.
