Ashutosh Rana is an Indian actor born November 10, 1967, in Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh, India. Ashutosh used to play Ravana in Gadarwara’s Ramleela. He started his career working in several television shows. Ashutosh made his mark in Bollywood playing the part of a psychopathic killer in ‘Dushman’ (1998). He has mainly played the villain’s part and often does supporting roles. He has also worked in the Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu film industries. Some of his films are: ‘Ghulam’ (1998), ‘Sangharsh’ (2000), ‘Raaz’ (2002), ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ (2014), ‘Dirty Politics’ (2015), ‘Brothers’ (2015), and ‘Shorgul’ (2016). In 2019, Ashutosh was seen as Public Prosecutor Anand in the critically acclaimed ‘Mulk’, as Janhvi Kapoor’s father in ‘Dhadak’, and in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’ (a remake of the Telugu film ‘Temper’). In 2019, Ashutosh appeared in ‘Sonchiriya’, ‘Milan Talkies’, ‘Chichen Curry Law’, and ‘War’.In 2021, Rana had two OTT releases, as a grief-stricken father in ‘Pagglait, and a supported role in ‘Hungama 2”. He also did a web show, “Chhatrasa’, where he played a Mughal Emperor.  He enjoys playing a variety of roles and does not like being typecast. In 2022, Ashutosh was a king in 1192 CE in ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ which starred Akshay Kumar, and as the hero’s father in the action film ‘Rashtra Kavach Om’. He also did a web show, “Chhatrasa’, where he played a Mughal Emperor, and ‘The Great Indian Murder’ for Disney+Hotstar. In 2023, Ashutosh was in charge of a RAW unit in blockbuster ‘Pathaan’ and continued the role in ‘Tiger 3’. He also starred in a legal drama about domestic violence in ‘Lakeerein’, and as a police inspector in ‘Bheed’, which follows the migration of Indians back to their villages during Covid. All of the movies referred to above are Hindi movies. He enjoys playing a variety of roles and does not like being typecast.
