Happy Birthday to Poonam Dhillon, Indian film and television actress, born on April 18, 1962, in Kanpur, India. Poonam has acted in 90 plus films during her career and was a popular actress most active in the 1980s. She was a Femina Miss India winner in 1977 when she caught the attention of Yash Chopra. Chopra gave her a role in the superhit ‘Trishul’. Impressed by her performance, he gave her the title role of ‘Noorie’ (1979), Poonam’s best-known film, and she was nominated for Filmfare Best Actress for it. She often co-starred with Rajesh Khanna and these films include: ‘Dard’ (1981), ‘Nishaan’ (1983), ‘Zamana’ (1985), and ‘Awam’ (1987). Poonam can occasionally be seen in supporting roles and was the central character in the television series ‘Ekk Nayi Pehchaan’ (2013). Poonam was most recently seen in ‘Jai Mummy Di’ (2020), and she also appears on television from time to time. She is the owner of a make-up van company designed for the film industry named ‘Vanity’.
