Happy Birthday to Preity Zinta, an Indian actress, born on January 31, 1975, in Shimla. Preity graduated college with a postgraduate degree in Criminal Psychology but started working in modeling and commercials. In 1998, she made her debut in the movie ‘Dil Se’, playing Shah Rukh Khan’s fiancée. That same year, Preity played the lead in the hit ‘Soldier’, an action-drama. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut in 1999, for both these performances. Preity is known for her dimples and her perky, outgoing, outspoken personality. Preity was very popular in Bollywood in the 2000s, starring with many leading men in successful films, such as: ‘Mission Kashmir’ (2000), ‘Koi…Mil Gaya’ (2003), and ‘Lakshya’ (2004), with Hrithik Roshan, ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’ (2001) with Salman Khan, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ with Aamir Khan, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ (2003) and ‘Veer -Zaara’ (2004) with Shah Rukh Khan. After taking a break from films, Preity self-produced and co-wrote the unsuccessful ‘Ishkq in Paris’ in 2013. After that Preity took another break and reappeared in the action-comedy ‘Bhaiaji Superhit’ (2018), as an aggressive wife. Beyond her film work, she has toured the world in stage shows with the likes of Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rani Mukerji. In 2008, Preity became the first and youngest female owner of an Indian Premier League cricket team, the ‘Kings XI Punjab’. She is now the owner of a South African cricket team Stellenbosch Kings. She is also well respected for her humanitarian work which usually centers around women issues in India. Preity was married in February of 2016 to American businessman Gene Goodenough.
