Ranbir Kapoor a talented Indian actor and producer, was born on September 28, 1982, in Mumbai. Ranbir is a member of the filmy Kapoor family. He is the son of the late Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh Kapoor and the grandson of Raj Kapoor. Ranbir was always destined to become an actor and studied in New York at the School of Visual Arts. He started his career by assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali on ‘Black’ in 2005. Ranbir made his film debut in Bhansali’s unsuccessful 2007 drama ‘Saawariya’, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. His breakthrough film was Ayan Mukerji’s very successful, ‘Wake Up Sid’ (2009), produced by Karan Johar. Ayan Mukerjee won the Filmfare Award for Best Debutante Director and Ranbir won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor.  These are some of Ranbir’s most successful movies: ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ (2009), co-starring Katrina Kaif, ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year’ (2009), which won Ranbir a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor, ‘Raajneeti’ (2010), ‘Rockstar’ (2011), won Filmfare Award for Best Actor and Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor, ‘Barfi!’ (2012), won Filmfare Award for Best Actor, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ (2013), and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (2016). In 2017, Ranbir formed a production company with Anurag Basu to make the unsuccessful ‘Jagga Jasoos’. In 2018, he starred in Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic of Sanjay Dutt, ‘Sanju’. It is Ranbir’s highest-grossing film, winning him a Filmfare Best Actor Award for his portrayal.  After a four-year break, Ranbir starred in ‘Shamshera’ with Vaani Kapoor, and Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra-Part One – Shiva’ (2022), co-starring Alia Bhatt. In 2023, Ranbir made a romantic comedy, ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor. In April 2022, Ranbir married actress Alia Bhatt and became the father of daughter Raha.
