Divya Dutta, Indian actress and model, was born on September 25, 1971, in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. Divya has appeared in both Hindi and Punjabi films. Divya made her debut in 1994 with ‘Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein Marna’, a romantic drama. In her second film, ‘Veergati’ (1995), she played opposite Salman Khan. Divya played a number of supporting roles through out the 1990s. In 1999, Divya was praised for her role as the Muslim wife of a Sikh man in her Punjabi debut, ‘Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh’. Other releases were Vikram Bhatt’s thriller ‘Kasoor’ (2001), the crime drama ‘Shakti: The Power’ (2002), the black comedy ‘Praan Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye’ (2003), a drama ‘Joggers’ Park’ (2003), Yash Chopra’s epic love story ‘Veer-Zaara’ (2004), ‘The Last Lear’ which won the 2009 National Film Award for Best Feature Film in English, she was a lower-caste trash collector in ‘Delhi-6’ (2009), a teacher in ‘Stanley Ka Dabba’ (2011), in the heist film ‘Special 26’ (2013), as Milkha Singh’s sister in ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, in the road thriller ‘Traffic’ (2016), and the black comedy ‘Blackmail (2018). Divya won Best Supporting Actress at the 65th National Film Awards for her portrayal of a state CM in ‘Irada’ (2018), based on a true story of people affected by uranium poisoning.  She has appeared in two web series for Disney+Hotstar: ‘Special OPS’ and ‘Hostages’ (2020).
