Sushmita Sen was born on November 19, 1975, in Hyderabad, India. Sushmita was Miss Universe in 1994. She made her film debut in ‘Dastak’ (1996) and became better known in ‘Sirf Tum’ (1999) and ‘Biwi No. 1’ (1999). Sushmita won a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for ‘Biwi No. 1’. In 2002, she played the role of a surrogate mother in Meghna Gulzar’s debut directorial ‘Filhaal…’. During the 2000s, Sushmita’s best roles were in ‘Samay: When Time Strikes’ (2003), the heist film ‘Aankhen’ (2003), ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?’ (2005) with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, and her biggest hit, ‘Main Hoon Na’ (2004), playing a teacher in Farah Khan’s directorial debut, opposite Shah Rukh Khan.  In 2015, Sushmita appeared in the Bengali drama ‘Nirbaak’. She can currently be seen in the Hotstar series ‘Aarya’, which has received positive reviews. Although Sushmita never married, she made news when she was allowed to adopt two girls at the age of twenty-four. They are Renee, 22, and Alisah, 12. Season 2 was released December 2021 and Season 3 is now available. In 2023, Sushmita starred in the biographical tv drama of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawanta in ‘Taali’ for JioCinema. Although Sushmita never married, she made news when she was allowed to adopt two girls at twenty-four.
