Amitabh Bachchan, veteran Bollywood actor, producer, singer, and television host, was born on October 11, 1942, in Allahabad. Amitabh’s father was a Hindi poet, and his mother was a Punjabi Sikh who encouraged his acting career. He made his acting debut in the 1969 film ‘Saat Hindustani’. In 1971, Amitabh won a Filmfare Best Supporting Actor award for ‘Anand’. Amitabh became a star doing the first of his ‘angry young man’ roles in ‘Zanjeer’ (1973). Over the course of his career, he has appeared in 220+ films, winning many awards and honors. In 2018, Amitabh co-starred with Aamir Khan in the unsuccessful ‘Thugs of Hindustan’. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved a good story. As an American, most of the movies I have watched were made in Hollywood. As I got older I lost interest in Hollywood movies and started watching Bollywood movies. Now I enjoy Tollywood, Kollywood, and Mollywood films as well.
