Boney Kapoor is a Bollywood film producer, born on November 11, 1955, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. Boney is the younger brother of actor/producer Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, actor Arjun Kapoor is his son, and Janhvi Kapoor is his daughter. His second wife was conic actress Sridevi. They were married from 1996 until her suspicious death in 2018. Boney’s best-known film starred his brother, Anil, and his wife, Sridevi. The film, ‘Mr. India’, was a big hit in 1987 and remains a cult classic today. The villain in the movie, Mogambo, played by Amrish Puri, is one of the best villains ever. The sci-fi film is considered one of the best Indian movies ever made. Boney is credited with establishing the careers of Mithun Chakraborty, Amrish Puri, Anil Kapoor, Tabu, and actress Esha Deol. Other well-known films are ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993), ‘Judaai’ (1997), ‘Pukar’ (2000), ‘Company’ (2002), ‘No Entry’ (2005), and ‘Mom’ (2017), ‘Wanted’ (2009), and ‘Mom’ (2017). Recently he has been making remakes of successful Hindi films ‘Pink’ became ‘Vakeel Saab’ (2021) in Telugu and ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’ in Tamil (2019), ‘Article 15’ became ‘Nenjku Needhi’ (2022) in Tamil and ‘Badhaai Ho’ became ‘Veetla Vishesham’ (2022) in Tamil. Boney’s daughter Janhvi starred in ‘Mili’ (2022), which Boney produced, it was a remake of the Malayalam film ‘Helen’. In 2023, Boney produced the Tamil film ‘Thunivu’, a heist action film that starred Ajith Kumar.
