Dia Mirza, a Bollywood actress, model, producer, and social activist, was born on December 9, 1981, in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh to German-Bengali parents. In college, Dia worked for a media company as a marketing executive, leading to modeling with many commercial brands. In 2000, Dia competed for the Miss India title won second runner-up, and went on to win the Miss Asia Pacific title. She made her acting debut in Gautham Menon’s successful ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’ in 2001. Other films Dia has appeared in are ‘Alag’ (2006), ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ (2006), ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.’ (2007), ‘Krazzy 4’ (2008), ‘Love Breakups Zindagi’ (2011), ‘Sanju’ (2018), and ‘Thappad’ (2020). Dia has appeared in the web series ‘Kaafir’ (2019), ‘Call My Agent: Bollywood’ (2021) and ‘Made in Heaven’ Season 2 (2023). Dia recently appeared in ‘Dhak Dhak’ (2023), an ensemble road trip involving four women on bikes. In 2011, she started a production house, Born Free Entertainment, with her first husband. In 2019, Dia formed a new production house for original content, One India Stories. Dia is active in social and environmental causes and has been honored as a UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador. She is married for the second time to Vaibhav Rakhi, a businessman.
