Happy Birthday to Rahul Bose, Indian actor, director, screenwriter and social activist, born July 27, 1967, in Mumbai. Rahul started his acting career working on stage and in the film “English, August”, a Hinglish film which became the first Indian film to be purchased by 20th Century Fox in 1994. Since then, he has worked in television, and in Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, English, as well as Bollywood films, and arthouse as well as mainstream films. Rahul is best known for: “Split Wide Open” (1999), a film on communal violence “Mr. and Mrs. Iyer” (2002), “Jhankaar Beats” (2003), “Chameli” (2003) with Kareena Kapoor, “15 Park Avenue” (2006), “Pyaar Ke Side Effects” (2006), “The Japanese Wife” (2010), and “I Am” (2011) where he was a gay man.  Rahul was seen as Priyanka Chopra’s husband in Zoya Aktar’s “Dil Dhadakne Do” (2015), and ‘Pooma: Courage Has No Limit’ (2017), which he wrote, directed and produced. In 2020, Rahul appeared as the heroine’s abusive husband in ‘Bulbbul’, a horror story, and in 2021, in the Netflix web series ‘Bombay Begums’.  He runs an NGO known as The Foundation, a scholarship program for the education of underprivileged children, and is also associated with several charities.
