Rajinikanth (born Shivaji Rao Gaekwad), beloved actor, writer, and producer mainly working in Tamil cinema, was born December 12, 1950, in Bangalore, Mysore State, India. Before working in films, Rajnikanth worked as a bus conductor in Bangalore. Tamil actor Dhanush is married to his daughter Aishwarya. He started his career playing an abusive husband in the Tamil drama ‘Apoorva Raagangal’ in 1975. The film won a National Film Award for Best Tamil Feature. Since then, Rajinikanth has appeared in over 160 mostly Tamil films, many of them commercially successful. audiences fall in love with his style and dialogue delivery. His breakthrough role was in ‘Moondru Mudichu’ (1976). Some of his successful movies are: ‘Mullum Malarum’ (1978), ‘Moondru Mugam’ (1982), ‘Nallavanuku Nallavan’ (1984), ‘Muthu’ (1996), ‘Padayappa’ (1999), ‘Chandramukhi’ (2005), ‘Sivaji’ (2007), ‘Enthiran’ (2010), ‘Kabali’ (2017), ‘2.0’, science fiction sequel to ‘Enthiran’, ‘and ‘Petta’. In 2020, Rajnikanth starred in ‘Darbar’, an action-thriller written and directed by A.R. Murugadoss. In 2021, he starred in the movie ‘Annaatthe’ which co-starred Keerthy Suresh and Nayanthara. Among his many awards is the Padma Vibbushan presented by the government of India in 2016.
