Rakesh Roshan is a Bollywood producer, director, screenwriter, and former actor, born on September 6, 1949, in Mumbai.  His father, Roshan, and his brother, Rajesh, were both music directors, and his son Hrithik Roshan is a very popular actor. Rakesh started his career as a supporting actor in the film ‘Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani’ in 1970.  From then on until 1990, Rakesh appeared in some 30-plus films in mostly supporting roles.  Rakesh made his directorial debut in 1987 with ‘Khudgarz’, and went on to direct several hits, such as: ‘Karan Arjun’ (1995) and ‘Koyla’ (1997) with Shahrukh Khan, and several with his son Hrithik, ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ (2000), which won a Filmfare Award for Best Film and Best Director, ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ (2003) which won a National Film Award for Best Film on Social Issues and a Filmfare Award for Best Film and Best Director, ‘Krrish’ (2006), and ‘Krrish 3’ (2013). Rakesh produced ‘Kaabil’ in 2017, which starred his son Hrithik and Yami Gautam. Rakesh is said to be working on ‘Krrish 4’ with Hrithik. The Krrish series is the tenth highest-grossing Indian film series.
