Ramanaidu “Rana” Daggubati, an Indian actor working in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films, producer, tv host, and visual effects coordinator, was born on December 14, 1984, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Rana was born into a filmy family in the Telugu film industry. His father was producer Daggubati Suresh Babu, and his grandfather was D. Ramanaidu, a winner of the Padma Bhushan. His uncle is Venkatesh a Telugu superstar and Naga Chaitanya is his cousin. Rana has been blind in his right eye since birth. Rana began his career working as a visual effects coordinator in films. He is also an award-winning producer for ‘Bommalata’ (2004), which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu. As a Visual Effects Coordinator for the Telugu movie ‘Sainikudu’ (2006), Rana won a Nandi Award for Best Special Effects. Rana made his acting debut in ‘Leader’ (Telugu 2010), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South. In 2012, Rana won a SIIMA Award for Best Actor for ‘Krishnam Vade Jagadgurum’. He has appeared in the Bollywood films ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ (2011), ‘Department’ (2012), ‘Baby’ (2015), and ‘Ghazi Attack’ (2017). Rana is best known for his role in S.S. Rajamouli’s biggest Indian movie ever ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ (2015) and ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ (2017). Rana received critical praise for his portrayal of Baahubali’s main villain Bhallala Deva, winning the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for Outstanding Performance (Male) 2018. He was most recently seen in ‘Housefull 4’ (2019). He also had his talk show on Telugu Television called ‘No. 1 Yaari with me Rana’ in 2017-2018. Rana married Mihika Bajaj on August 8, 2020.
