Happy Birthday to Sanjay Dutt, controversial Indian actor and producer, born on July 29, 1959, in Mumbai.  Sanjay is the son of actor Sunil Dutt and iconic actress Nargis (Mother India). He appeared briefly as a child in a 1972 film of his father’s ‘Reshma Aur Shera’, but his debut film as an adult was ‘Rocky’ in 1981.  Sanjay has enjoyed success in a wide variety of movie genres, but he is known especially for his portrayal of gangsters and police officers.  Some of his best movies over the last three decades are: ‘Vidhaata’ (1982), ‘Naam’ (1986), ‘Saajan’ (1991), ‘Vaastav: The Reality’ (1999), ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ (2003), ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ (2006), and ‘Agneepath’ (2012). In 2014, Sanjay was seen in ‘Ungli’ and ‘PK’. He spent time in jail for charges relating to his involvement in the 90s with illegal possession of firearms. Sanjay was last seen in ‘Saheb Biwi aur Grangster 3’ (2018), which failed at the box office; and, Karen Johar’s ‘Kalank’ (2019), also a disappointment. But, his biopic ‘Sanju’ (2018), with Ranbir Kapoor playing Sanjay, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, turned out to be a huge success.
