Siddharth Roy Kapur, an Indian film producer, born on August 2, 1974, in Mumbai. Siddharth’s mother was a renowned dancer and brothers Aditya Roy Kapur and Kunal Roy Kapur are well-known actors. Coming from a marketing background, by 2005 Siddharth was the senior vice-president of UTV. His marketing background put Hungama TV for kids in the lead against multinational channels, like Cartoon Network and Disney. In 2008, Siddharth became CEO of UTV Motion Pictures leading to its growth as a top production and distribution house. UTV integrated into The Walt Disney Company India, and in January 2014, Siddharth became the managing director responsible for all business and operations of the company. His most successful films are: ‘ABCD 2’, ‘Filmistaan’, ‘Haider’, ‘Kai Po Che!’, ‘Chennai Express’, ‘PK’, and ‘Dangal’. In January 2017, Siddharth quit Disney and started his own production company called Roy Kapur Films. His first production was ‘The Sky is Pink’ starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Farhan Akhtar. More recently Siddharth produced ‘Yeh Ballet’, an acclaimed Netflix original movie. In 2021, Siddharth produced his first OTT series with ‘Aranyak’, a crime thriller for Netflix, and in 2022, he produced ‘Rocket Boys’ for SonyLIV. He is currently married to actress Vidya Balan.
