Taapsee Pannu is an Indian model, and actress, born on August 1, 1987, in New Delhi, India. Taapsee worked as a software engineer before becoming a popular model for brands like Coca-Cola, Motorola, and Airtel. In 2010, she made her Telugu debut in a Raghavendra Rao film ‘Jhummandi Naadam’. In 2011, Taapsee made her debut in an award-winning Tamil film ‘Aadukalam’, co-starring Dhanush. She continued working predominantly in the Telugu industry with ‘Vastadu Naa Raju’, ‘Mr. Perfect’, ‘Veera’, ‘Vandhaan Vendraan’, Mogudu’ in 2011, and ‘Daruvu’ in 2012. In 2013, she made her Bollywood debut with a remake of a 1980s hit ‘Chashme Baddoor’. In 2015, she won praise for her role opposite Akshay Kumar as an undercover agent in ‘Baby’. In 2016, Taapsee starred in the hard-hitting legal drama ‘Pink’, which explored the double standard between young unmarried men and women in India. In 2017, she had several releases: ‘Running Shaadi.com’, ‘The Ghazi Attack’ (Hindi/Telugu), ‘Naam Shabana’, and ‘Judwaa 2’. 2018 was a great year for Taapsee. She won critical acclaim for her performance as a female hockey player in ‘Soorma’, a lawyer representing her Muslim father-in-law in ‘Mulk’, and a free-spirited young woman choosing who to marry in ‘Manmarziyaan’. Her winning streak has continued with ‘Badla’ (2019), a mystery who done it co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, ‘Game Over’ (2019), as a handicapped person in a psychological thriller, an elderly sharpshooter in ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ (2019) winning Best Actress (Critics) 65th Filmfare Awards, a navigation expert in ‘Mission Mangal’ (2019), and ‘Thappad (2020)’, as a young wife with an abusive husband, which won her the Best Actress Award at the 66th Filmfare. In 2021, she was seen in the murder mystery ‘Haseen Dilruba’, now playing on Netflix. In 2022, Taapsee won a Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actress in a Web Original for ‘Looop Lapeta’, she portrayed the captain of India’s women’s national cricket team in ‘Shabaash Mithu’, and did a remake of the Spanish thriller ‘Mirage’ called ‘Dobaaraa’ for Anurag Kashyap. She will be seen in SRK’s ‘Dunki’.
