Happy Birthday to Sonu Nigam, Indian singer and composer featured in many Hindi and Kannada movies, born on July 30, 1973, in Faridadbad, Haryana, India. Sonu’s father sang at weddings and parties and Sonu began singing with him at the age of four. Moving to Mumbai at the age of 18, he eventually succeeded in the industry with songs like “Sandese Aate Hai” in ‘Border’, “Yeh Dil Deewana” in ‘Pardes’, “Ishq Bina” in ‘Taal’, “Kal Ho Naa Ho” in ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, and “All Izz Well” in ‘3 Idiots’.  In a career spanning just two decades he has won numerous awards, including the 2003 National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer for ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’.  Sonu has acted as a judge on several music shows, such as: ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’, ‘Indian Idol’, and ‘Voice of India’. He has done some acting as well, in ‘Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani’ (2002), ‘Kash Aap Hamare Hote’ (2003), and ‘Love in Nepal’ (2004).  Sonu was the voice of Aladdin in the 1992 Disney film’s Hindi version.
