Vaani Kapoor is an Indian actress, born on August 23, 1988, in Delhi, India. Vaani worked in the tourism industry before being signed by Elite Model Management. She caught the eye of Yash Raj Films and was signed to a three-film deal. Vaani made her debut in the role of Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-girlfriend in ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ in 2013. The movie was successful, and Vaani was awarded Filmfare Best Female Debut. Her second film was a Tamil/Telugu remake of ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, called ‘Aaha Kalyanam’ (2014). Vaani starred alongside Nani in the film. Her third film, ‘Befikre’ (2016), co-starred Ranveer Singh. The film received negative reviews and Vaani took a three-year break. She returned as Hrithik Roshan’s love interest in ‘War’, 2019’s highest-grossing release. In 2021, Vaani was seen as  Akshay Kapoor’s wife in ‘Bell Bottom’, and as a transgender woman in ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’. In 2022, she was Ranbir Kapoor’s wife in ‘Shamshera’, a period action adventure movie. Vaani was last seen as Ajay Devgn’s wife in the successful crime thriller ‘Raid 2’ (2025), and in Netflix’s’Mandala Murders’, as a detective on the trail of cult murders.
