Happy Birthday to Aditya Yash Chopra, a true movie mogul, Bollywood producer, director, screenwriter, and eldest son of the late iconic director Yash Chopra, born on May 21, 1971. Aditya made his directorial debut at the age of 23, with ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ (1995), starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. DDLJ, which he also wrote, become one of the most successful films in Hindi cinema history, and the longest running theatrical film in the world. DDLJ won 10 Filmfare Awards and the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Aditya directed two more films with Shah Rukh Khan, ‘Mohabbatein’ (2000) and ‘Rab Ne Bana di Jodi’ (2008). He has produced an amazing number of blockbusters, such as: ‘Veer-Zaara’ (2004), ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ (2005), ‘Fanaa’ (2006), ‘Chak De India (2007), ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012), the Dhoom Trilogy (2004, 2006, 2013), ‘Sultan’ (2016), and ‘War’ (2019). After the death of his father in 2012, Aditya became the Chairman of Yash Raj Films, a 6,200 crore ($960 million US) company. He is the first Indian production company to move towards the film studio model like Hollywood, in control of production, post-production, and distribution. Yash Raj Films has launched many screenwriters, directors, and actors. In 2017, Aditya Chopra made a comeback as a director with the unsuccessful film ‘Befikre’, starring Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor. In 2014, Aditya married popular actress Rani Mukerji. They have a daughter, Adira.
