Emraan Hashmi, an Indian actor, born on March 24, 1979, in Mumbai. Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt are his uncles, and Alia Bhatt is his cousin. He began his career as an assistant director for Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Raaz’ in 2002. In 2003, he made his debut in the crime thriller ‘Footpath’. Emraan, known as Bollywood’s “serial kisser”, has won critical acclaim in his breakthrough film ‘Murder’ (2004), and ‘Gangster’ (2006), ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’ (2010), ‘The Dirty Picture’ (2011)’ and ‘Murder 2’ (2011), and ‘Shanghai’ (2012). His film ‘Mr. X’ (2015) was a flop at the box office, but he reunited with Vidya Balan in ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ which did well. Emraan has carved out a place for himself playing gray characters. Emraan did a biopic ‘Azhar’ (2015), playing the controversial cricket player Hohammad Azharuddin. In 2016, Emraan was seen in the fourth movie of the horror series ‘Raaz Reboot’, and in ‘Baadshaho’ with Ajay Devgan in 2017. In 2018, Emraan appeared in ‘Bard of Blood’, a web-series made for Netflix. He was then seen in ‘Why Cheat India’ (2019), in ‘Mumbai Saga’ with John Abraham, a mystery thriller with Amitabh Bachchan, ‘Chehre’ (2021)’, and in ‘Dybbuk’, a supernatural horror film for Amazon Prime Video. In 2023, Emraan co-starred with Akshay Kumar in ‘Selfiee’, a comedy drama, and as the villain in ‘Tiger 3’, starring Salman Khan. In 2024, Emraan made a cameo appearance in ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’, a historical biography set in 1942. Emraan has been married to Parveen Shahani since 2006 and they have a son.
