Happy Birthday to Prakash Raj, South Indian actor, director, producer and television host, born on March 26, 1965, in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Prakash is in great demand because he is at ease speaking Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Hindi and English. During his career, Prakash has appeared in over 300 films in these languages. He has played a variety of roles and is often seen as the antagonist. He started his career doing television and bit appearances in Kannada cinema in the 1990s. After that he started working in Tamil and Telugu cinema and became a well-known star winning several awards for Best Villain, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. His most well-known Bollywood role was as the arch villain in ‘Singham’ (2011), and army Sargant Ustad in ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ (2013). Prakash was seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal Again’, one of the highest grossing Bollywood films of 2017. He received a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in Mani Patnam’s 1998 political drama ‘Iruvar’, a National Film Award for Best Actor for ‘Kanchivaram’ (Tamil 2008), a film about the lives of silk weavers, and a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Kannada for ‘Puttakkana Highway’ (2011), as producer. In 2019, Prakash appeared in eleven films, ranging from Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages. Later in 2021, Prakash will appear in Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa’, Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Vakeel Saab’, and in Yash’s ‘K.G.F.: Chapter 2’.
