Happy Birthday to Ram Charan Tej Konidela or Ram Charan, popular Telugu film actor and producer, born on March 27, 1985, in Chennai, India. Ram comes from a filmy family. His father is megastar Chiranjeevi and his uncles are Pawan Kalyan, Allu Aravind, and Nagendra Babu. Ram won a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut-South for his first film ‘Chirutha’ in 2007. He played a tour guide seeking revenge for his father’s murder. He was praised for his action and dancing skills. His next was S.S. Rajamouli’s blockbuster ‘Magadheera’ (2009), a fantasy action film. He played a dual role in the reincarnation drama as did Kajal Aggarwal as his love. Ram won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu for his role and he became a leading young actor in Tollywood. Other successful films are: ‘Orange’ (2010), ‘Rachcha’ (2012), Naayak’ (2013), ‘Yevadu’ (2014), ‘Govindudu Andarivadele’ (2014), and ‘Dhruva’ (2016). In 2018, Ram showed off his comic timing as hard of hearing Chitti Babu in Sukumar’s ‘Rangasthalam’. It won many awards including South Indian International Movie Awards – Best Actor in a Leading Role, and a Filmfare Awards South – Best Film and Best Actor – Telugu. The film became the highest-grossing Telugu film of that year. He owns Konidela Production Company which produced his father’s film ‘Khaidi No.150’ (2017) and ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ (2019). Ram’s only Bollywood film was made in 2013. Co-starring Priyanka Chopra, it was a major box office loser. He will be seen in S.S. Rajamouli’s much looked forward to next ‘RRR’ and ‘Acharya’, starring his father. Both will release in 2021.
