Johnny Lever is a noted Indian comedian and actor, born on August 14, 1957, in Prakasam, Andhra Pradesh. Forced to leave school early because of family financial problems, Johnny began entertaining early by imitating Bollywood stars and their dances with stand-up comedy. Eventually he started performing in shows and went on world tours, including one with Amitabh Bachchan in 1982. Johnny was one of the first standup comics in India. He made his movie debut in ‘Dard Ka Rishta’, but his breakthrough came in ‘Baazigar’ (1993) which starred Shah Rukh Khan. Johnny has acted in more than 350 films in the last three decades working mostly as a supporting comic actor. Some of the most well-known are: ‘Karan Arjun’ (1995), ‘Koyla’ (1997), ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998),’Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’ (2001), ‘Andaaz’ (2003), ‘Chalte Chalte’ (2003), ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ (2003), ‘Golmaal 3’ (2010), ‘Housefull 2’ (2012), and ‘Dilwale’ (2015).  Johnny had his own comedy show on Zee TV, ‘Johny Aala Re’. Johnny has most recently done ‘Housefull 4’ and ‘Total Dhamaal’, both in 2019, ‘Coolie No. 1’ in 2020, and ‘Hungama 2’ in 2021. His next will be ‘Cirkus’, a Rohit Shetty comedy, starring Ranveer Singh.
