Happy Birthday to Mika Singh, an Indian rapper, playback singer, lyricist, and performer, born on June 10, 1977, in Durgapur, West Bengal, India. Mika’s father, Ajmer Singh is a classical musician who sang at a famous Gurdwara, a place of worship for Sikhs, in Patna, Bihar, India. Mika was the youngest of six brothers. Mika started his career as a religious singer and playing guitar for his older brother Daler Mehndi, also a singer. Mika can also play the tabla and the harmonium. After trying to establish himself as a singer with no luck, Mika launched his own album in 1998 titled ‘Greatest Indipop Album Ever’. The album included the song ‘Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag’ which made him an overnight star. By the mid-2000s, Mika had become a playback singer in Bollywood. Some of his well-known songs include: ‘Mauja Hi Mauja’, ‘Singh Is King’, ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’, ‘Jugni’, ‘Gandi Baat’, ‘Jumme Ki Raat’, ‘Aaj Ki Party’, and ‘Milegi Milegi’. Mika has also done songs in other film industries, such as, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Urdu and Odia. Mika has an NGO called ‘Divine Touch’. He has been on many television shows involving music, sometimes as a guest, sometimes as a mentor and judge. Mika performs live to sold out crowds. One example being Danny Singh’s 2016 Sandwell & Birmingham Mela in the UK with an audience of 80,000 people.  Mika is single and loves his pet dogs.
