Happy Birthday to Namita Mukesh Vankawala, an Indian actress who works in the South Indian film industry, born on May 10, 1981, in Surat, Gujarat.  Namita was a contestant in the Miss India pageant in 2001 as Miss Surat.  Although she did not win, the publicity helped her modeling career as she was offered several television commercials. At 6’2”, she is one of India’s tallest actresses.  In 2002, Namita made her debut in two Telugu films, ‘Gemini’ and ‘Sontham’.  She can be seen in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam films. In 2006, Namita made her Bollywood debut in ’Love Ke Chakkar Mein’. In 2009, she was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress – Telugu for her role as Prabhas’ girlfriend in ‘Billa’.  Namita was very popular in the 2000s when the South industry was casting more glamorous roles.At the height of her success, a fan built a temple for Namita near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. In 2017, she appeared on ‘Bigg Boss’ a popular Tamil reality show hosted by Kamal Haasan. Namita has most recently been seen in Tamil films ‘Ilamai Oonjal’ (2016) and ‘Pottu’ (2019), and ‘Pulimurugan’ (2016) a Malayalam film starring Mohanlal.
