Vijay Deverakonda is popular young Telugu actor, born on May 9, 1989, in Hyderabad. Vijay first appeared in the 2011 Telugu film ’Nuvvila’, a romantic comedy; and had a small part in 2012s ‘Life is Beautiful”. He received praise for his next role as Rishi in the super hit drama ‘Yevade Subramanyam’ (2015).  This film opened the door to leading roles, the first being ‘Pelli Choopulu’, a commercially successful coming-of-age love story in 2016. The film won the Best Feature Film in Telugu award at the 64th National Film Awards, and the Filmfare Award for Best Film-Telugu. His next and biggest success was ‘Arjun Reddy’ in 2017.  Vijay played a brilliant, but self-destructive young surgeon in the raw and bold film. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu. In 2018, he appeared as the sweet, nice guy in ‘Mahanati’ and ‘Geetha Govindam’, as a politician in ‘NOTA’, and the owner of a haunted auto in ‘Taxiwala’. In 2019, Vijay won the Hindustan Times India’s Most Stylish Award. He starred as a student activist in ‘Dear Comrade’ (2019), and as a writer in ‘World Famous Lover’ (2020). Vijay’s next will be a romantic sports action film shot in hindi and telugu. He will play a kickboxer with a stutter in ‘Liger’, releasing in September 2021. Vijay also owns his own production company called King of the Hill Entertainment. The Deverakonda Foundation, an NGO he founded, supports and trains poor and deserving youth with the purpose of finding employment.
